Cambodia-Arab Plan to Sign an Agreement on Memorandum to Strengthen Cooperation on Tourism Sector



Phnom Penh: Cambodia and United Arab Emirates plan to sign an agreement on memorandum to strengthen cooperation on tourism sector, especially on direct flying to Cambodia. This plan was declared in the meeting on 23 January 2013 between Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Hor Namhong and Mr. Khalid Ghanem Al Gahith, UAE Assistant Foreign Minister Economic Affairs.
           According to Mr. Kuy Kuong, spokesman for the Minstry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, both parties have discussed about memorandum on airline service to reach direct flying from Abu Dhabi and Dhabi city to Phnom Penh, because this direct flying can push tourism sector better.
           Mr. Khalid is going to send delegation to Cambodia to make MOU draft talking about technology cooperation on gas and oil sector. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates plans to visit Cambodia in February, and H.E. Hor Namhong said this visiting brings relationship and cooperation among the two countries more develop.
           Mr. Kuy Kuong said there were 3.5 million of tourism sector in Cambodia in the past. Therefore, having memorandum talking about airline sector to have direct flying from Arab Emirates to Cambodia is good for tourism sector increase to 20% per year (Kampuchea Tmey).
