Kuwait Invests with Cambodia following Three Agreements



             Following three agreements signed since August 2008 (economic and technical cooperation, trade agreement and the agreement on promotion and protection of investments), Kuwaiti Ambassador Dheraal Tuwaijri held a meeting with Minister Chan Sarun yesterday to discuss on agricultural cooperation between the two countries including the establishment of rice milling machine for rice collecting and processing for export from Cambodia, food processing particularly Halal food, rubber processing and exportation, request for Kuwait’s assistance in human resource development in processing halal food, export of fragrant wood from Cambodia and the processing of sea fisheries. Further details will be discussed in Cambodia-Kuwait Joint Commission meeting to be held in the second semester of 2013. (Rasmei Kam, 04 October 2012)

New Bruneian Ambassador Determines to Enhance Relation and Cooperation with Cambodia


Cambodian President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin yesterday received newly-appointed Ambassador of Brunei Shaikh Haji Fadilah Bin Shaikh Haji Ahmed. In the meeting, Ambassador Shaikh pledged to do his best to further promote cooperation, friendship and solidarity between both countries. For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin welcomed the Ambassador’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia with the hope that the cooperation between the two countries, in particular between the two legislative bodies, will be further strengthened. Tiger Ways Operates Its First Direct Flight to Cambodi
Tiger Airways yesterday started its very first direct flight from Singapore to Cambodia and vice versa. It is scheduled to fly every day, and its one-way flight costs only US$38 per person. Tiger Airways is known as the leading company providing low-cost services amongst many other airlines in the region, said Mr. Kit Meng, Director General of Cambodia Airway, adding that he’s really happy to collaborate with the company and hopes this business cooperation will be flourished. China Has New Policy for Chinese Investors in Cambodia



Oknha Pong Kheiv Se, Director General of Canadia bank, told reporters on 23 September before the opening of the forum on Investment Potential and Business Opportunities in Cambodia that China has a new policy for Chinese investors in Cambodia; that is, those investors can put their valuable properties in pawn at banks in China and can borrow money from Chinese banks in Cambodia, and this offers favorable condition for Chinese investors in Cambodia.
