In the first 8 months of 2012, there
were 7,058 Cambodian workers sent to work in Korea as of 03 September 2012
which grew nearly 200 percent in comparison to the same period of last year,
the time when only more than 4,900 workers were sent to Korea, said Mr. Heng
Sour, Director General and Director of Administration and Finance, adding that
in 2013 Cambodia will be able to supply from 7000 to 8000 workers provided that
technical problems in Vietnam and Indonesia cannot be completely solved making
Korea unable to recruit workers from the two countries and then will turn to
Cambodia for manpower. It is said that Korea will need over 10,000 workers in
2013. (Rasmei Kam, 09-10 September 2012)
