Phnom Penh to Have a New International Airport with Capacity of 10 M Passengers per Annum

Addressing in the ceremony for handover and dissemination of Tourism Development Strategic Plan 2012-2020 on 20 September, Samdech Hun Sen raised, in terms of long term development, the Ministry of Tourism shall conduct feasibility study on building a new international airport which could receive more than 10 million passengers per year. This is the planned vision, he further added, since the existing airport is unable to receive neither 7-8 million nor 10 million passengers a year, and he just made known that the location, a little bit farther from Phnom Penh, has already been decided though declined to disclose the exact location. In Siem Reap, a new international airport has already been planned either. (Rasmei Kam.)
