Trade Volume Between Cambodia and Japan Up to 800 Million USD in 2012
Phnom Penh: The trade
volume between Japan and Cambodia has increased to 800 million USD in 2012, while
it worth only 512 million USD in 2011.
Besides, the Japanese grant aid to Cambodia worth 345 million USD from
2010 to April 2013, while concessional loan worth over 139 million USD from
2010 to 2012, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.E. Koy Kuong
said after the meeting between Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Mr.
Kumamaru Yuji and the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Hor Namhong.

Yuji expressed his pleasure for his appointment as the Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia,
and lately, the diplomatic relation between the two countries has strongly
developed. The importance of his mission is to strengthen the diplomatic and
bilateral relations in all fields of the two countries, he added. According to H.E. Hor Namhong, this year
marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Cambodia and Japan. Therefore, the two countries will organize a lot of
events so as to improve diplomatic, politics and economics relation. “I would
like to thank the Japanese government and nations for supporting and providing
aids to Cambodia, saying that Japan and Cambodia are true friends and good
partners”, he added.
From 2010 to
April 2013, the Japanese grant aid to Cambodia worth 345 million USD, and
concessional loan worth over 139 million USD from 2010 to 2012. Besides, Japan
has also provided technical support which worth over 280 million USD from 2005
to 2012. More importantly, Japan’s contribution to Khmer Rouge Tribunal worth
over 76 million USD from 2005 to February 2013, said H.E. Koy Kuong. (Rasmei
